If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please visit our website, for details about our fees and process, and to complete our Pre-Qualification Form. ARPO limits adoptions to within 50 miles of Indianapolis. We do not have a shelter; all pets are in volunteer foster homes.
Diesle is a 3 year old male whippet possibly beagle mix. He weighs around 24 pounds, so he's not a big guy. He currently lives with 4 furry foster siblings, and loves to play with other dogs. He's playful and loves to chase anything that squeaks but also enjoys snuggle time on his foster mom's lap.
Diesle is not a low energy dog. He is very active and agile, and would be a great companion for someone looking for a jogging partner. He's very smart and could potentially be a good agility dog if his new owners worked with him to teach him agility training! Within a short amount of time he's learned sit, stay, come, down, and leave it. Diesle is the type of dog that thrives on challenges like learning new commands, games, etc.
Diesle is very loving and sweet, but lacks in self-confidence outside of his home. His foster mom is working on building up his confidence and teaching him the world isn't a scary place, but he will need an owner that is willing to advocate for him with strangers and give him time to adjust. Therefore, we recommend a home with no children. He would be fine in a home with other dogs, but sharing a home with young active cats isn't recommended. If interested in learning more about Diesle or you want to meet him, please download an application and a volunteer will be in touch. If you're looking for a loyal, active companion Diesle is your pup!
