UPDATE 5/15/16: Check out that face! Dandelion is doing well and continues to gain much needed weight. As you can by the latest pictures her spirit has also dramatically improved. She will never again walk around with her head hung low!
She completed her heartworm treatment and once we get the OK from the vet, she will be spayed and have corrective surgery on her eyelids.
Meet Dandelion, the newest recipient of our Cowboy Fund for the dogs in most need of medical care. Dandelion, aka Dani, was transferred to GPMR from another rescue where she was rescued with close to 200 animals from a hoarding situation. Dani is in very rough shape. She is one of the worst starvation cases we've seen, at just 73 lbs she has a lot of weight to gain. She had intestinal parasites, fleas, large patches of hairloss, eye infections. She also has a severe case of heartworms, causing fluid in her lungs and an enlarged heart.
Dani has a long way to go and the vet has given her a guarded prognosis. Once she is healthier, she will need a cardiac ultrasound to assess the damage to her heart from the heartworms. Please consider a donation towards her care!
Dani is being fostered in Mustang, OK.
