Eddie is a senior, male beagle with a serious nap habit.  He loves rooting around rearranging pillows on the couch and makes sweet sighing and gentle snoring sounds.  When not on the couch, he loves to sit in the sun and play in the yard.  Eddie still plays with toys occasionally, his favorite being a soft bone, and doesn't tear things up.   He does have good energy and loves to go for walks, and even went with Outward Hounds one day at the shelter. He also is very agile for his age; he can climb up steps, and jump into the car or onto the couch with ease.  Eddie appears to be hard of hearing, but responds to a whistle or clap and will follow gestural cues:  "come," "go there," and "stop."  He will bark if excited about a change in his day; food, walk, ride, someone coming home or leaving...and sometimes will quiet to gestural cues or a whistle.  His new T-shirt sums up his outlook, "HOWL if you love adventure."  He has lived with one or two other dogs for quite a while and has learned to tolerate them trying to snuggle or play with him, but he is NOT interested in dog interactions.  Eddie does love his people, however, and will come to you for a snuggle after a meal, and looks adoringly at those who love him.  Eddie is not good with children or an active household and does not want to be home alone all day.  Eddie is interested in cats, but has not lived with one recently.  Eddie has no health problems, most of his teeth and loves to eat! Individuals interested in adopting a puppy are STRONGLY encouraged to download and read this FREE ebook. Even if you've raised puppies in the past, this is an invaluable resource to help make your new addition successful!

Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.

About Brother Wolf Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Brother Wolf Animal Rescue is known for their excellence in matching people with the best dog or cat that would suit their lifestyle. Today we are proud to have the largest NO-KILL shelter in Asheville. Brother Wolf Animal Rescue was established in 2006. We started off as a very small group of people, taking dogs and cats from gassing shelters in GA. We found wonderful homes for these animals but realized while we were saving these particular animals, we had a much bigger problem in our community that we needed to face. Perfectly healthy, highly adoptable animals in our community are being euthanized every day. Rescued pets are not broken or damaged goods. They are wonderful animals who have ended up homeless through no fault of their own.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our facility is located at 31 Glendale Avenue in Asheville, off Swannanoa River Rd, 1/2 mile from Lowe's. Open every day.

Our Adoption Process...

All adoptions will require a contract and discussions with one of our adoption counselors. Based on the needs of the particular animal, we reserve the right to require a home visit at the discretion of the adoption counselor. All our animals will be altered before adoption and up-to-date on standard vaccinations. We do collect an adoption fee.
