This freckle-faced redhead is looking for a loving human-dog duo that would welcome him into their family and on adventures! Connor is a great trail partner and is a fantastic playmate for most dogs. He is very careful when playing with foster Chihuahuas or puppies, and I have been impressed with his nurturing ability.

This past summer Connor learned to swim on his own! After going to the river several times a week for adventures with my dog pack, he finally got up the nerve to swim across the river with his big foster brothers. I was so happy for him. The day he started swimming he stayed wet for several hours, frolicking in the water!

Connor is trustworthy in the house. When I go on errands, I can leave him in the house with other dogs and the house is the same as when I left.  What a good boy!

Connor attended school with me in the spring. Being treat-motivated, he did very well.  I love having Connor in my family. He has never been in a fight with any of my dogs (6 boys, ranging from 7-70 pounds).  I won’t deny he snarls from time to time, but no fights.

Connor is still head shy. I’ve learned to use a very gentle approach with Connor.  He had an ear injury when he was in his first adoptive home, and Connor has been afraid to let people touch his ears. But he has made great progress with this, and I now swab out his ears daily! And Connor is completely loyal. If Connor gets loose, I don’t worry about him running off - quite remarkable for a hound!  Connor is an intelligent, loyal, nurturing dog deserving of his own home.

All Brother Wolf animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations before adoption (if species appropriate).
Application and counseling is required prior to all adoptions.

Individuals interested in adopting a puppy are STRONGLY encouraged to download and read this FREE ebook. Even if you've raised puppies in the past, this is an invaluable resource to help make your new addition successful!

Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.

About Brother Wolf Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Brother Wolf Animal Rescue is known for their excellence in matching people with the best dog or cat that would suit their lifestyle. Today we are proud to have the largest NO-KILL shelter in Asheville. Brother Wolf Animal Rescue was established in 2006. We started off as a very small group of people, taking dogs and cats from gassing shelters in GA. We found wonderful homes for these animals but realized while we were saving these particular animals, we had a much bigger problem in our community that we needed to face. Perfectly healthy, highly adoptable animals in our community are being euthanized every day. Rescued pets are not broken or damaged goods. They are wonderful animals who have ended up homeless through no fault of their own.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our facility is located at 31 Glendale Avenue in Asheville, off Swannanoa River Rd, 1/2 mile from Lowe's. Open every day.

Our Adoption Process...

All adoptions will require a contract and discussions with one of our adoption counselors. Based on the needs of the particular animal, we reserve the right to require a home visit at the discretion of the adoption counselor. All our animals will be altered before adoption and up-to-date on standard vaccinations. We do collect an adoption fee.
