Hi!  My name is Honey.  My foster parents say I’m polite, obedient and a bit timid.  Now, I prefer cautious rather than timid.  I have a lot of life experience and being cautious has served me quite well, I must say.  My cautious nature does not mean I don’t like new people.  On the contrary!  If you are calm, patient and affectionate, I will be happy to give you my trust.  It will just take some time for me to warm up to you, but we’ll have a good time getting to know each other.  I like to go for walks, and, though I’m curious about everything, I don’t pull on leash.  I’m also house-trained and respect your property when I am in your home.  I like to have a nice cushy bed inside my house.  If you put it on the edge of where things are happening, so I can see you, it will become my safe place, and you’ll always find me there.  Oh, I also like to be petted, scratched and cuddled.  Can’t get too much of that!

I would prefer to be the only dog in the home, though I do enjoy quick play dates with older, more mellow dogs.  (In my prior foster home, I lived with a cat and mostly ignored it.)  It’s probably best that I’m in an all-adult home, as the fast pace of life with children is not for me.  Please e-mail my foster parents at spragueadgbe@gmail.com to learn more about me!  I am cautiously optimistic that I’m the right dog for you.

Honey is a member of the One-Year Subscription Club.  This means that her adoption fee is waived, and, for one year after her adoption, Brother Wolf will provide food, vet care through a partner vet and behavior support!

Individuals interested in adopting a puppy are STRONGLY encouraged to download and read this FREE ebook. Even if you've raised puppies in the past, this is an invaluable resource to help make your new addition successful!

Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.

About Brother Wolf Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Brother Wolf Animal Rescue is known for their excellence in matching people with the best dog or cat that would suit their lifestyle. Today we are proud to have the largest NO-KILL shelter in Asheville. Brother Wolf Animal Rescue was established in 2006. We started off as a very small group of people, taking dogs and cats from gassing shelters in GA. We found wonderful homes for these animals but realized while we were saving these particular animals, we had a much bigger problem in our community that we needed to face. Perfectly healthy, highly adoptable animals in our community are being euthanized every day. Rescued pets are not broken or damaged goods. They are wonderful animals who have ended up homeless through no fault of their own.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our facility is located at 31 Glendale Avenue in Asheville, off Swannanoa River Rd, 1/2 mile from Lowe's. Open every day.

Our Adoption Process...

All adoptions will require a contract and discussions with one of our adoption counselors. Based on the needs of the particular animal, we reserve the right to require a home visit at the discretion of the adoption counselor. All our animals will be altered before adoption and up-to-date on standard vaccinations. We do collect an adoption fee.
