Hello there! My name is Dollie Mae (Mae for short). I'm a super sweet 11-year-old hound mix lady.

I tend to be a bit shy and nervous around new people, but after I get to know you, I'll be dancing for joy whenever you come home! I like to be near my loved ones at home, so if you enjoy curling up with a book or watching TV I'll be your number one chill buddy.

I love fooooooooood! SO MUCH! Treats are my absolute favorite, and come breakfast and dinner time I'll do my signature dance for joy (I will happily sit for meals, though). I also love my walks, especially the part where I get to sniff all those exciting smells!

I'm a little wary about other dogs, but I might be able to get along with another dog who is calm and can give me my space when I need it. I'm not sure how I'd be with cats, but I've exchanged friendly sniffs with my foster mom's ferrets (I certainly love their food- they're messy eaters so I clean up after them :)). I think I would do best without children, since the thing I really need is a calm and quiet home with a low key but consistent routine.

I'm at the adoption center right now but I really love the comfort and quiet of home life! If you are looking for a quiet, laid-back companion, come meet me today, Snuggles await! :)

All Brother Wolf animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccinations before adoption (if species appropriate).
Application and counseling is required prior to all adoptions.

Individuals interested in adopting a puppy are STRONGLY encouraged to download and read this FREE ebook. Even if you've raised puppies in the past, this is an invaluable resource to help make your new addition successful!

Please note that visual breed identification of companion animals has been proven to be unreliable, so for most of our animals we provide a best guess at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our animals as an individual and do our best to describe and place pets based on personality not breed label.

About Brother Wolf Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Brother Wolf Animal Rescue is known for their excellence in matching people with the best dog or cat that would suit their lifestyle. Today we are proud to have the largest NO-KILL shelter in Asheville. Brother Wolf Animal Rescue was established in 2006. We started off as a very small group of people, taking dogs and cats from gassing shelters in GA. We found wonderful homes for these animals but realized while we were saving these particular animals, we had a much bigger problem in our community that we needed to face. Perfectly healthy, highly adoptable animals in our community are being euthanized every day. Rescued pets are not broken or damaged goods. They are wonderful animals who have ended up homeless through no fault of their own.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our facility is located at 31 Glendale Avenue in Asheville, off Swannanoa River Rd, 1/2 mile from Lowe's. Open every day.

Our Adoption Process...

All adoptions will require a contract and discussions with one of our adoption counselors. Based on the needs of the particular animal, we reserve the right to require a home visit at the discretion of the adoption counselor. All our animals will be altered before adoption and up-to-date on standard vaccinations. We do collect an adoption fee.
