Facts about Jimmy J.

  • Breed: Boxer/Terrier (Unknown Type, Medium) Mix
  • Color: Red/Golden/Orange/Chestnut
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: 8219352, I’m not interested in looking at the camera and saying “cheese”. I have WAY more fun stuff to do than that! My name is Jimmy, by the way. And I hate to brag, but I’m awesome. There, I said it! I’m just an all-around really nice dog and I’d love to find a person, couple or family who appreciates how cool I am. I’m about 4 years old, weigh 35# and I’m a "Boxer/Terrier-cetera". I am house-trained and crate-trained. But that’s not all...I’m very smart, eager to please, highly-trainable, friendly with strangers and other dogs, and very loyal to my humans. I could settle in SO easily and effortlessly in a new home!!

I’m playful and moderately-active. Give me the opportunity to get tired each day, and I’m a happy camper. I’d make a great walking buddy for you, or maybe we could also go to the dog park? I’d LOVE to be your forever boy. Please consider making me a member of your family! :)

Grooming needsMinimal, no brushing normally needed.

Special needs:  Protection from cold weather

Medical issuesNone known

Activity Level:  Moderate normally - will kick into “high” when playing

Meal time:  Has never displayed any food aggression to other dogs

Housetraining:  Does good – hasn’t had an accident inside - also, marking is minimal

Barking:  Normal, i.e., doesn’t hesitate to bark if a noise is heard or something unusual seen – but has never barked without reason – would probably bark too much if left outside at night – and see below under behavior “Toward other dogs”

Chewing:  Doesn’t seem to have any interest in chewing – often ignores rawhide chews when offered - chewing on furniture has never been a problem

Digging:  Has never dug any noticeable amount

Greeting a friendly stranger:  A little wary of friendly strangers/visitors – does best with adults and older children – tends to get anxious and nippy around younger or small children

Toward other dogs:  He is basically friendly to most dogs - however, does not seem to like some  and so he is not a good choice for a dog park – also, (this is where it gets a little crazy) he seems to get tired of being around the dogs that he likes – he will stand a few feet from one of them, or a few of them, and start barking at them nonstop – but, never attacks or fights with them - after he is put in his own separate, day time area, he is okay and stops barking – just gets a little cranky and needs some time alone

Toward cats:  unknown.

While being petted:  Enjoys physical closeness with familiar family members

Walking on a leash:  Does very good

Riding in a car:  Readily loads up in vehicle – well behaved while riding

For further information please email the address in the box to the right. Anyone interested in our dogs/cats will be required to fill out an adoption application. We do not adopt to anyone living out of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. All our dogs/cats will be spayed/neutered, heart worm tested (dogs), FeLV/FIV tested (cats), microchipped; and current on vaccinations.

We do not adopt on a first-come first-served basis. We review all applications received to ensure that the animal and the applicant are a good match based on our personal experiences with the animal. These animals live in our homes with us so we are familiar with their habits and behaviors.

To fill out an application online or to find out more information about our adoption process, just go to and click on the 'Adoption Application' link.

About Frisco Humane Society

About Our Rescue Group...

Frisco Humane Society is an all-volunteer organization and completely relies on fundraising/donations to continue our rescue efforts and provide veterinary care. We do not have a shelter, as all animals live in our homes until adopted. Our goal are saving precious lives, promoting adoption from rescue, and reducing the pet population through spay and neuter.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Frisco Humane Society is at the PetsMart in Frisco, Texas at 3333 Preston Road, Frisco, 75034 on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Saturdays of every month from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. We have adoptable dogs at that time. Adoptable cats are available daily. You can view all our adoptable pets on our website

Our Adoption Process...

For dogs, we require an application, home visit, and home trial period to ensure that it's a good fit for the dog and the family. For cats, we require an application, but do allow same-day adoptions. Our goal is to find our fosters a "forever" home. Our adoption fee is $135 for cats and $165 for dogs.
