Facts about Duncan Donut

  • Breed: Pomeranian
  • Color: Red/Golden/Orange/Chestnut
  • Age: Adult
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Male
  • ID#: 8282593-Duncan: Kristi

Weight: 11.2 lbs (All muscles)

Temperament: A little untrusting and defensive to people other than his foster mom that he trusts.  If a stranger approaches to pet him, he will bite to stop them. Once he's your friend, he is a very loving and affectionate dog who just likes attention.-----------------------------

Favorite Activities:  Loves to run to get the ball, doesn't always bring it back though but will do this for hours. swim and dive in the pool to get a toy, it feels weird telling a dog that it is time to get out of the pool or not to get in.  Has a very sweet side once he can trust that you won't hurt him.  If forced to do something he doesn't want to do, his first reflex is to bite.  He responds very well to verbal corrections and commands with hopes that this bad behavior will stop. --------------------------------

Requirement:  This dog can Not be adopted to a family with children or a first time owner.  He must have an experienced owner and Must be with an experienced owner that is active and willing to take him walking, running, playing fetch and swimming in order to keep him happy.--

His Background:  He has had a rough life so far and it has made him a little untrusting and defensive.  He was adopted before and his owner allowed him to get obese and did not provide him with enough exercise which made him miserable and he would bite her.  So she brought him back to the rescue.  We have taken all the excess weight off of him and he is acting like his old self again.-------------------------------------

Where did he come from: He was at the shelter when we pulled him.  He had been attacked by a large dog and his throat was ripped open.  He had a hoarse cough for a long time. But he is doing great now! ------------------------------

Additional information: All dogs come up to date, spayed/neutered, microchipped, and heartwormed tested/treated.   -----------------------

ADOPTION APPLICATION:   Email to request a printable application.   ------Please remember our group is made of only volunteers all of whom have full time jobs, foster fur-kids, and families of their own, so please be patient.---------

About Recycled Poms and Schipperkes

About Our Rescue Group...

We began in 1998, and have continued to rescue purebred dogs previously used as breeders in Puppy Mills, dogs surrendered by their owners, lost and abandoned dogs on death row at local shelters and a few dogs found roaming the streets. We house, feed, rehabilitate, socialize, seek medical attention for, spay or neuter each dog rescued, but mostly, we give them love.

Please join our cause! We can't do it alone.

We are run entirely by volunteers who give of their time to help find these precious pups their forever homes! Please consider joining us in our fight to find "furever homes" for these pups! We can always use volunteers, FOSTER HOMES!!!!, and donations, including quality dog food, healthy treats (like BULLY STICKS!) belly bands for boy dogs, exercise pens, pee pads, collars, leashes, and Dog shampoo

Our Adoption Process...

Adopting one of our dogs requires that you fill out an adoption application, have your references checked, and let us visit your home.

The required minimum adoption donation is $250. That amount covers the spay/neuter, annual vaccinations, heartworm testing, and one month of heart worm preventative.

We spend about $300.00 just to treat the pommies that are heartworm positive. We have invested more than $1000.00 in several of our pommies--treating them and kenneling them. Kenneling cost $16 a day per dog. We need foster homes!

To fill out an application, simply go to and fill out the application and email it to
