Ozzie's Story...
Ozzie was rescued when he was a tiny puppy and has had a great life, but his dad's life has changed and he can no longer care for him. Ozzie is 6-8 months old, Hound mix - not sure, but look at that FACE and his ears - whatever he is, he is HANDSOME! Maybe Hound mix, Lab mix or Ridgeback mix??!? Black Mouth Cur?

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ozzie, a Houston Rhodesian Ridgeback/Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Labrador Retriever for sale in Houston, or seeking a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Houston.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Houston already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Houston breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Rhodesian Ridgeback/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Rhodesian Ridgeback/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Houston paves the way for another one to be saved.
