Sookie's Story...
6/4/2016: SOOKIE HAS BEEN ADOPTED! Sookie and her brother, Spencer, just arrived in rescue and will be looking for their new families. We were told that they are belgian shepherd malinois mixes (we do not know what they are mixed with but people that brought them to us think they might also be maremma) and were born on March 28, 2016, making them just 8 weeks old. They are super cute and fluffy balls of love. They should grow to be medium sized but since we don't know what dad was, we can't guarantee a mature size or weight range. They are pups so they have no bad behaviors and have not had a chance to develop their own unique can help them with that! They are ready and willing to be molded to fit your family and home situation. They will make wonderful family companions and are the perfect size to be playmates for the kids or other pets. have a back yard? They would love the chance to run and play in it. They should be vetted and spayed/neutered on June 1st and will be able to go home anytime after that date. The adoption fee for each will be $200 to help cover vetting and cost of daily care while with us. If interested in giving on eof these little cuties a home, please email your interest and adoption application to us or feel free to call us @ (352)493-1255 for more information.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sookie, a Chiefland Belgian Malinois/Maremma Sheepdog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Belgian Malinois/Maremma Sheepdog for sale in Chiefland, or seeking a Belgian Malinois/Maremma Sheepdog puppy from a breeder in Chiefland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Chiefland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Chiefland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Belgian Malinois/Maremma Sheepdog breeders who help with Belgian Malinois/Maremma Sheepdog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Chiefland paves the way for another one to be saved.
