Junebug's story has a rough start involving abandonment, fear, and loneliness. It took Junebug a little while to let go of her fear and anxiety about people, but once she did - we met the real pup with a heart that's even bigger than her smile.

You see, Junebug has been waiting for a loving family to adopt her for over a year. When visitors come to our shelter she usually gets overwhelmed and tries to hide - and this has made it difficult for people to look past her fear and see her joyful heart. BUT, with patience, calm kindness, and love, Junie does come around with new people...we've seen it happen. It may take a few visits for her to realize you're one of the good guys, but when she does the reward is this smile, this beautiful girl in your lap, this sweet puppy running and grinning while you play with her. The time and patience needed to make friends with Bug is so worth it.

Junebug is smiling like this because two shelter employees came in early to take her out to play in the kiddie pool. They snuggled her as she stopped by for brief hugs before taking off after her doggy friends in a game of tag. She deserves the love and joy only a safe home and caring family can bring.

Junebug is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, tested for heartworm, and kept current on flea and heartworm preventative.
