Summer's Story...
Summer is a gorgeous, seven year old, smooth-coated tricolor collie. She was an owner surrender and can be a little shy when you first meet her, but she warms up once she gets to know you. She would probably do better as an only dog, but she did kiss the cat. Summer is up to date on all of her vaccines and has been spayed and microchipped. There will be more information to come as we get to know Summer better.

This lovely girl is currently being fostered in Ohio.

If you are interested in this dog, please submit an application on our website. Our organization is run by volunteers and it is hard for them to answer all the emails that come in about dogs. Once we receive your application, an interviewer will call you and try to answer any additional questions you may have. Our application can be found at http://www.tristatecollierescue.org/ under the adopt tab. Thank you.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Summer, a Powell Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Collie for sale in Powell, or seeking a Collie dog from a breeder in Powell.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Powell already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Powell breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Collie breeders who help with Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Powell paves the way for another one to be saved.
