My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

NOTE: More pictures to come! Also a video.

Well, hello there!

Please allow me to introduce myself.

I am a very sweet, affectionate male Great Dane/Mastiff mix.

I am between 1 - 2 years old.

I am keeping my past life a secret, but I will say that my new life began on the day I was found. You see, I was found rummaging through the trash cans as I was very hungry and becoming emaciated. I then spent a week at a shelter before I was surrendered to the Forever Friends Great Dane Rescue (FFGDR).

I weighed 105 lbs and today, I have regained a portion of my weight back.

I was introduced to my foster daddy and we got along very well. My foster daddy said that I have an incredible affection for people, and am a big leaner like typical Great Danes.

I am NOT aggressive by any means. My foster daddy also said that no matter how lovable I am, I don’t quite know how to look less intimidating whenever I see people and animals. I LOVE to meet them. Whenever I see people and animals, I get so happy that I just want to rush towards them so I can be petted! Because I have yet to learn how to be calmer dog, people tend to be nervous around me. I’m still a puppy in spite of my big body. Thus, I am still learning to have better manners with people and animals.

I have not yet been exposed to children up-close under my foster daddy’s care as I am still learning how to act and be calmer. By acting like a very happy puppy, I could accidentally knock little kids down.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE tennis balls! If you let me, I will fetch tennis balls in the backyard for hours! I also have a tendency to shred some of them.

In spite of my love of tennis balls, I don’t show much interest in other toys. But I do love larges bone marrows. I also love kong-filled treats. Sometimes, I carry my yellow duck squeak in my mouth.

I sit very well for my meals and treats.

I have not mastered any other basic commands yet.

I am house-trained.

I am trusted around the house overnight.

I am crate-trained however, I do NOT like it so I will try to avoid going in. But, if you toss in a kong with treats (or peanut butter), bone, or a toy into the crate, I will go in.

I do believe that I smell wonderful and don’t understand why I need a bath every once in a while. While I do not like baths, but I do tolerate it well.

Because of my foster daddy’s schedules, he believes that I am more of a flexible dog rather than a routine-based dog.

I do fairly good on leash during the walks however, I do pull whenever I see people and animals because I want to meet them. Thus, I still need some leash training.

I have no food aggression and I don’t object my foster daddy tested me by playing with my food while I eat.

I do pretty good taking treats from hands in a gentle way, especially from an open hand.

I am fairly calm and laid back at home. I always want to be in the same room with my person. I will lay on the ground next to my person. Sometimes, I try to lay on top of my person while being petted.

I do my job to chase wild squirrels out of the yard. I must keep the yard clean!

I have not been exposed to cats under my foster daddy’s care. It is unknown if I like cats or not.

I have a quirky habit of stealing dirty socks and have them on my dog bed while I sleep.

I love my foster daddy but I also know that I need a permanent home. I cannot wait to meet my new person and I promise to treat you like my best person to love and snuggle with!
