Mollie (yellow Lab) and Zuni (black Lab) have been together since Zuni was two and Mollie was one. They live here on 30 acres outside. They have been friendly with other dogs that may roam in the area, but they mostly only know each other. Mollie and Zuni are very loving. They are good watch dogs, because they can hear and smell so well. The trouble is they would only lick a stranger to death!  Zuni wears an electronic range collar because she got after a neighbor's chicken one time.

Mollie (Mollie's Irish Brandy Wine) is a seven-year-old, spayed, yellow AKC Lab with a wine nose.  We got her when she was one from an older couple that kept her mostly in a cage and were sad when she got too big for them. Mollie never had formal training, but understands sit and sit-up. She has a quiet demeanor and is friendly to all. She has no known health issues and joins in with Zuni to let us know when strangers, both human or other animals - including bears and coyotes - approach our home.

Zuni is a black Lab mix with maybe a bit of bird dog. We have owned Zuni since she was a puppy.  Zuni has had some formal training and understands sit, stay, down, speak, quiet, walk and stop. She was eight in December.  She has no known health issues, is friendly to all and lets us know if we are going to have company, including bears and coyotes.

Both dogs eat a meat-first dog food with some table scraps. They live outside and have been free to roam this property. They come with a nice 3' x 6' dog house.

About Brother Wolf Animal Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

Brother Wolf Animal Rescue is known for their excellence in matching people with the best dog or cat that would suit their lifestyle. Today we are proud to have the largest NO-KILL shelter in Asheville. Brother Wolf Animal Rescue was established in 2006. We started off as a very small group of people, taking dogs and cats from gassing shelters in GA. We found wonderful homes for these animals but realized while we were saving these particular animals, we had a much bigger problem in our community that we needed to face. Perfectly healthy, highly adoptable animals in our community are being euthanized every day. Rescued pets are not broken or damaged goods. They are wonderful animals who have ended up homeless through no fault of their own.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our facility is located at 31 Glendale Avenue in Asheville, off Swannanoa River Rd, 1/2 mile from Lowe's. Open every day.

Our Adoption Process...

All adoptions will require a contract and discussions with one of our adoption counselors. Based on the needs of the particular animal, we reserve the right to require a home visit at the discretion of the adoption counselor. All our animals will be altered before adoption and up-to-date on standard vaccinations. We do collect an adoption fee.
