Feather is a beautiful and good temperament puppy. She is friendly with people and children. She gets along well with dogs of all sizes and also cats.

Feather is a sweet, mellow puppy girl. She is under loving care in a foster home together with 12 other dogs and 5 cats. She is quiet, friendly and gets along well with all the dogs and cats in her foster home. Feather and her brother Fawn also go on day trips to the school their foster mommy works at to mingle with the children. They are not afraid of loud noises or screaming children and love to play and be cuddled.
They only bark when the foster mommy comes home – as her other dogs do too, and when it is feeding time, but only a quick short little bark to say don’t forget us. They are learning to Sit and Stay! They live on the 3rd floor with a huge roof top balcony where they go to the bathroom. They are well potty trained; they never go to the bathroom in the house.

Meet Feather!

Feather along with her 3 other siblings were rescued from a mountain side. This is a place where the rescuer has tried to catch two female dogs for the last couple years but without success.
One July morning she was driving past and saw some movement there that wasn’t the female dog and decided to stop and investigate. When she got to the place she saw four cute fat little puppies but they were surrounded by flies and dirty moldy old food which a feeder leaves out for them. The food was covered in maggots and flies. The 4 little puppies were also covered in fleas and ticks. The rescuer quickly took them to a vet for a checkup, deworming and flea treatment. Luckily, their blood work was good and they came home after a day or so resting at the vet.

They were placed straight in a foster home where they have been living up until now. Feather is a beautiful little girl who loves cuddles and loves to play with other dogs. She’s very smart and learns very quickly. She has no aggression, will bark if she feels there is danger, but not continuous barking.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Feather, a Castro Valley Labrador Retriever puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Castro Valley, or seeking a Labrador Retriever puppy from a breeder in Castro Valley.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Castro Valley already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Castro Valley breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Castro Valley paves the way for another one to be saved.
