Facts about Hondo

  • Breed: Hound (Unknown Type)/Border Collie Mix
  • Color: Black - With White
  • Age: Puppy
  • Size: Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
  • Sex: Male
HONDO is a young Hound/Border Collie mix who was found as a stray near Ferris. He combines the best of both breeds! Hondo is a real charmer who ADORES people and other dogs. He is intelligent and friendly to all. He loves to play and snuggle. He is a wiggle bunny who will grow into his big paws. His final weight will be between 60-70 pounds so an active household would be ideal as he will benefit from regular exercise. A yard with high fencing and appropriate gate lock is a must for Hondo as he is an escape artist. Hondo is still young but is quickly learning commands like sit and stay. He loves his chew toys and boisterous games in the yard with his foster brothers. He does well on a leash and likes to say hello to everyone, including the mail carrier. He has received all his vaccinations, is neutered and is on heartworm preventative. Hondo is crate trained and housebroken. He likes to ride in the car and is not upset by a loud thunderstorm or even a bath. How about giving this tall, cool one a forever home?

About Animal Allies of Texas

About Our Rescue Group...

Animal Allies of Texas is a 501(c)(3) animal advocacy/rescue organization, dedicated to improving the quality of life in our community. Our goal is to build a no-kill shelter on enough land to house not only "adoptable" animals, but "treatable" ones as well - those who need medical care or behavior modification to become adoptable. While working toward this goal, we will also engage in community service and humane education projects to help bring about "humanity championed by thought."

Come Meet Our Pets...

We hold adoption events at one or more locations every week end. Please check the calendar on our web site www.animalalliesoftexas.org for specific locations and times.

Our Adoption Process...

All potential adopters must submit an application, either online via our web site www.animalalliesoftexas.org or a paper application at an adoption event. General requirements for adoption: You must live in the DFW/Ft. Worth/North Texas area - we do not adopt outside this area. Dogs must be primarily inside, and cats must be totally inside. Cats must not be declawed. All pets must be spayed/neutered if this has not been done prior to adoption. Adopter must agree to a home visit prior to adoption. Adopter MUST agree to return pet to AAT if he/she can no longer keep the pet or if AAT deems it to be in the best interest of the pet. An adoption agreement detailing these and other requirements must be signed to finalize adoption. Current fees are: puppies (under 6 months)-$200, dogs-$175; kittens (under 6 months)-$125, cats-$110. This covers all vaccinations, spay/neuter and microchipping.
