Charlie's Story...
Meet our new sweet senior Charlie. He is about 10 years young. He came to us from the Modesto shelter when a volunteer walked by his kennel and couldn't leave him behind. They reached out offering to foster if we could take him in. The rest is history. Again someone's well-lived pet and we may never know why he ended up at the shelter. He is a tad overweight, had a recent abdominal surgery, is house trained and is dog friendly. He has some arthritis in his hind end but otherwise is a very healthy boy! His days consist of short walks and napping. Sounds like the perfect dog!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Charlie, a St Helena Dutch Shepherd dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dutch Shepherd for sale in St Helena, or seeking a Dutch Shepherd dog from a breeder in St Helena.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in St Helena already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a St Helena breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dutch Shepherd breeders who help with Dutch Shepherd rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in St Helena paves the way for another one to be saved.
