Facts about Vivian

  • Breed: Feist/Miniature Pinscher Mix
  • Color: Black - With Tan, Yellow Or Fawn
  • Age: Young
  • Size: Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
  • Sex: Female
Vivian spent the first few months of her life huddled with her brother in the corner of a crate, trusting only him. Anytime she was put on a leash, she “shut down”. In public, she would shiver and hide. After several months in foster care, Vivian’s true happy, energetic personality is blossoming. She loves playing with her foster dog sisters (trust dogs more than humans) and has turned into a real snuggler with her foster mom. Although she initially ran from her foster mom, she now runs up to her with the cutest “grin” as if to say “I’m so happy to see you!” She’s still shy in public, but continues making progress and is a favorite visitor at a local nursing home because she is quiet, well-behaved, and has the softest ears. She has an innocent, sensitive spirit and is very smart. She is house-trained and good with children. She’s still learning to trust humans and might be hard to catch if she got away. Vivian needs a home with at least one other active dog and a fenced yard for safety, for exercise, and because she is so “private”, she will not potty on a leash. Vivian is sure to return smiles and love to a kind family who gives her the same.

$175.00 adoption donation ($200 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough) , microchipped and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites if needed. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as surgeries and dentals. For more information or apply to adopt at

About Augusta Dog Adoptions

About Our Rescue Group...

Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3 charity. We are an all volunteer organization, has no paid staff, or physical shelter. We rely on the generosity of foster homes. Since 2007, we have saved over 1,000 dogs in the Shenandoah Valley, neighboring counties, and from other high kill pounds throughout Virginia and neighboring states.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All of our dogs are fostered in individual foster homes. You can meet most of our adoptable dogs at Petsmart in Waynesboro almost every Saturday from 10am-2pm. You may also apply on our website

Our Adoption Process...

All dogs are spayed/neutered and vaccinated prior to adoption. Several have received additional medical care as well. The standard adoption donation is $175.00. However, the donation can easily be adjusted for seniors and dogs with special needs. It may also be slightly higher for young, purebred dogs. The adoption donation helps us provide care for the foster dogs.

We ask potential adopters to fill out a short application at If a match is made, a time to meet and adopt is then set up, usually on the following Saturday.

All dogs are adopted out as family members. They are not to kept exclusively outdoors. They must be allowed inside of the household.
