Elsie's Story...
I was just a kitten myself when I became a mom. It was hard work protecting and caring for my three beautiful babies. With the help of a kind lady who cared for me and CARE, my babies all found their forever homes. I wanted to find mine too, so my foster mom brought me to stay at Petsmart so potential adopters could fall in love with me. Without the reassuring presence of a person by my side, I became sad and withdrawn. Thankfully someone stepped up to foster me and I am now happy that I can be with my family, but I really hope to find my true forever home soon.

Please apply online and ask my foster mom Sandy all about me.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Elsie, a Richmond Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
