Elsie's Story...
Meet Elsie, a absolute love bug and classic black and white “cow” kitty. She was just a kitten herself when she became a mom. With the help of CARE and a kind lady who cared for her, her babies all found their forever homes. Elsie wanted to find hers too, so her foster mom brought her to stay at Petsmart so potential adopters could fall in love with her. Without a family to love and spend time with, Elsie became sad and withdrawn. Thankfully Elsie found a foster home and she is now happy that she can be with a family, but she really hopes to find her true forever home soon. She is just two years old and loves to play or will just sit peacefully on the couch with you. Contact Cat's Cradle Rescue at 804-467-6528 or cats@catscradle-richmond.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Elsie, a Richmond Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
