Facts about Sandy

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Gray, Blue Or Silver Tabby
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Female
  • Hair: Short
DOB March 13, 2014.

This little grey beauty with big alluring green eyes has quite the huge personality. She's got a lot of sass but at the same time is hugely affectionate and loving. She will run to the door as soon as her foster mom walks into the house, and she is very attentive in the morning to the sound of stirring and comes meowing to say good morning. She will follow her human around everywhere in the house and above all else she LOVES her food. She must have strict eating times, otherwise she will ask to be fed all day long...and she would eat all day long! She's a snuggly little girl that thoroughly enjoys crawling all over her human nuzzling and purring. Her favourite resting places include perched up on chairs, foot rests and the back of the couch.

Sandy came in as a stray. She came into foster care from a shelter where she was coping very badly with the environment enhanced by her major lack of socialization. She has come an incredibly long way since she was first taken in. She still has her funny little quirks when it comes to humans showing her affection, and just simply needs a confident cat owner who can allow her time to trust, read her behaviour and accept her limitations. It's so worth it!

Our Adoption Process...

Decided on the cat or kitten you would like to adopt? Please call 416-538-8592, or email

An adoption counsellor will return your call and give you more details about the cat you are interested in and ask some questions about your home to make sure the cat will be a "purr-fect" fit. We are happy to answer any questions you may have as well.

You will be supplied with the foster home address to have a meet and greet with your kitty. If both parties are happy, you can sign the TCR Contract of Adoption, pay the adoption fee and take your cat home with you in a safe carrying case.

Adoption fee is $175 per cat. This ensures that the cats that come into our care receive the attention they need, are spayed or neutered, and receive a rabies vaccination at the appropriate age. It includes 6 weeks of free pet insurance. For City of Toronto residents, the adoption fee includes a mandatory City of Toronto cat license that is valid for one year. As you can imagine, these fees only begin to cover our costs; donations and ongoing fundraising efforts carry us the rest of the way!

1. ALL senior cats (8 years or older) have an adoption fee of the adopters choice, vs. our standard adoption fee of $175.

2. Our adoption fee for a bonded pair is $100 per cat, vs. $175 per cat.
