Facts about Mister Cat

  • Breed: Domestic Shorthair
  • Color: Orange Or Red
  • Age: Adult
  • Sex: Male
  • Hair: Short
At 7 years old, Mr. Cat's owners relinquished him to Animal Care and Control. We met this sweet guy at Adoptapalooza. He was the only one that didn't get a home. We didn't want him to go back to ACC, so he hitched a ride with us. It didn't take long for us to find out that he's sweeter than we thought! Mr. Cat is diabetic. He is currently being treated with insulin. He allows twice daily blood glucose checks (done by pricking the tip of his ear), therefore allowing us to give the correct insulin dose each time. It is very easy to do thanks to Mister Cat's mellow personality. By using this method, along with feeding him only wet high protein food, we hope that we can get him off insulin and just manage him with diet alone. This method is easy to teach. Anyone can do it :) Mister Cat is currently isolated in a room by himself since he can't go in the big free roaming rooms since there is dry food there. This love bug deserves a home of his own with a new family to call his own.
