Summer is a beautiful tri-color brown little girl with a cute little white spot on the back of her neck. Summer is very friendly and loves her people as long as she feels comfortable. We have found that when she finds herself in an unfamiliar environment or different home, she gets nervous and intimidated around those she doesn't know, so she will need patience and time adjusting to her new forever family. She loves to be wherever the humans are and when her foster mom is doing the dishes Summer likes to walk between her legs.
Summer enjoys getting scratches and being loved on. She likes to cuddle, especially near your shoulder; she just wants to be close to her humans. At first Summer was a little hesitant to play with toys, and seemed to be a little afraid of them. She has quickly learned that toys are a lot of fun, and she now loves to play with all different types of toys, including chewing on Nylabones. Summer gets along well with her foster siblings and likes to play with them. She also gets along with other small dogs that she meets.
Summer is a good eater and is very food motivated. She uses the doggie door to relieve herself independently and is completely house-trained. She also likes to bask in the sun and watch all the birdies and squirrels in the yard. Summer likes to cuddle in bed with her foster parents while they're watching TV and loves to burrow underneath the blankets. Summer is also crate trained.
Summer does not do well with younger children, in fact, we feel she has had a bad experience with them in the past based upon her behavior towards them. We strongly advise her to be in a home with children at least 16 years or older. Summer would be completely content if she were the only dog in the home, but wouldn’t be opposed to other doggie siblings. Summer is such a little sweetheart with so much love to give. All she really wants is a human companion she can call her own.
