Tommy (predominantly gray tabby, 3 year old male) Baited and trapped when he wandered into unfriendly territory, this distinctively handsome, chubby cheeked fellow was dumped at the local shelter and immediately labeled feral with a zero chance of adoption. FUR discovered him two months later in a tiny cage and brought this lonely, frightened boy home to where we could find out what he is truly all about. Safe and showered with attention, he trusted us enough to love us back. Lots. He has fit beautifully into the indoor lifestyle and joyously greets us when we come in his room. There are never too many hellos to be had! Looking for a family of his own again in a secure environment, he would do best in a single cat household. After waiting so long to find love, he is just not ready to share.

Our shelter is a no cage, no kill sanctuary. Most of the cats in our care are here because they was no other alternative and for many it was their last hope. All of our cats receive love, affection and attention everyday. Every volunteer we have spends personal time with each and every one of them so we can tell you in detail all about their personality when you come to adopt. The more we can adopt out the more we can go out and rescue.

About Feline Urgent Rescue of Western North Carolina

About Our Rescue Group...

As guardians of displaced felines, our mission is to provide a safe haven for cats, thereby reducing the homeless population, the shelter euthanasia rates, and by filling a gap in the rescue community as a last resort sanctuary.

Our group consists solely of volunteers who share the passion for helping homeless cats to find loving homes, providing compassionate care to unadoptable cats, and assisting feral colonies and their caretakers with food, shelter and medical needs.

Our Adoption Process...

Please call or email us to schedule an appointment to meet or adopt a kitty you see on our adoption list. Because we are an all-volunteer crew, we're sorry, but walk-ins cannot be accommodated. Applications can be found on our website, if you want to fill one out before you arrive. The adoption fee is $35 per cat, and all collected fees are spent on rescuing, caring for and re-homing community cats.
