My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Rusty, a 5 to 7 year old puppy! I am so happy to be in a foster home and learning all kinds of new thing. I am full of energy, love and enthusiasm for life and they tell me I have learned a lot in just a couple weeks. I am learning my manners and have not had a single accident in the house! I still need a lot of training. I listen a little but my butt starts wiggling when you talk to me and it just takes over my whole body and I jump for joy! They are teaching me things to calm me down but WAGS told me I will need formal training classes to learn how to listen even with the distraction of other dogs. Speaking of other dogs; I LOVE THEM! There is not anything more fun than getting everyone to chase me like the video shows! I love people, I love kids but I have not been around a cat to know if I love them. I have learned to behave myself and use a crate every day when my foster people are out. I am learning to walk quietly on a leash, and I have improved even though I still need work! I love throwing toys, playing tug of war and generally I am completely like Velcro and stick by you asking for attention all the time. I probably have some other breed in me besides Golden but my personality is ALL GOLDEN! I never have growled, snarled or acted like I was mean. I only like to get love and give love. They told me I was malnourished when I arrived at 38 pounds. My coat is very poor because I didn't have proper food in my past. I am now about 47 pounds but I will always be small. I need a lot of supplements daily to help my coat return to a soft normal texture. My ears really hurt when I arrived at WAGS but they took me to the vet several times and applied the right medicines. If you are looking for a boy who loves to play, loves to learn and loves his people then consider me. I promise to always love you and hope you will do the same. I never want to be abandoned again! Rusty is neutered, UTD on vaccinations and HW & Lymes tested as negative. Rusty's Foster Home added this: Rusty is lovable and loves attention. He loves to sit on your lap and fall asleep. He loves to fetch balls and rope. He likes to chew on his toys, but doesn't destroy them. He loves to run around. He enjoys playing with other dogs, big or small. He seldom barks and if he gets too excited and barks at another dog, he responds to leave it and will stop barking. He LOVES to eat. He eats and sleeps well in a crate. He responds to come if you want him to come back to you. When he gets really excited, he dances with his front paws while sitting and waiting for a treat or for you to pet him. He loves to have his fur brushed; he just lies on the floor very patiently. He loves to go outside, we just need to be careful at the door as he gets so excited to go out he forgets to wait for you to be ready for him to go outside. He loves to sit and lay down, responds well to both commands. He loves to ride in a car; he lies down on the back seat for most of the trip.
