My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

When we are asked about a special rescue pup that is snuggly, sweet and very fun-loving, we can't help but think of Wilma. Her eyes are shining...filled with hope. Wilma's foster mom knows it's morning when Wilma's little head comes under the blanket...getting closer and closer..and then a kiss of love. This curious and really, really smart approximately 9 month old, 8 or so lb cuddlebug is a truly great companion...and so easy to take just about anywhere. There aren't many visible signs that Wilma was in a very scary high-kill shelter. She's sometimes shy and can hold back in certain situations..but a warm hug and reassuring words..and Wilma bounces back and snuggles just a bit closer.

We picture Wilma as the best friend to dog-loving retirees. She'd be so loyal.. and overjoyed to share her love and good will. There's also no question that Wilma would be the most popular girl on the block. Once comfortable, she loves to engage and just be her entertaining, adorable self.

Even though Wilma is usually up for pretty much any activity, she's never pushy or yappy. Exercise..perhaps leisurely walks to socialize with neighbors..and mental stimulation that comes from her time with her humans is important to this kind girl to keep her happy and well-behaved.

Wilma would also enjoy time with very gentle, dog-loving kids. She's such an easy-going pup..but we wouldn't want her tail being pulled or anything but the gentlest of handling. Wilma's foster loves her dearly...she says that Wilma is such a great dog who deserves all good things in her life. Wilma's breed mix is so cute, loving and the most devoted of companions...we're told that if you choose a Schnauzer/Terrier, you end up with a humorous, fun and loyal family member.

Wilma has a beautiful coat that's indicative of her breed...once her sad shelter hair grows out as a result of great nutrition (and a loving, stress-free environment) Wilma will be a truly stunning girl. She'll require periodic grooming and great nutrition (salmon oil would be a great supplement) to keep her coat cotton-soft and matt-free.

Wilma will be arriving on transport in Boulder on 6/3/16. We're currently accepting applications for this wonderful dog. If interested in this sweet and very endearing companion, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
