Misty's Info...

I am already spayed, housetrained, purebred, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, good with kids, good with dogs, and good with cats.

Misty's Story...
Hello my name is Misty! I'm a 4 year old purebred Cocker Spaniel that needs a new home because my owner has very bad arthritis and can't take me out as often as I need. I do need a home that understands all the requirements a Cocker Spaniel has including but not limited to prone to ear infections, needing regular grooming, needing a specific diet, and of course regular veterinary checks. My breed is high maintenance and I am too, but I have the personality of an angel. I get along with anyone and anything, and I am already housebroken. I'm an absolute doll and need a good home that understands all my needs. My adopter will need to have an approved application to take me home, and the shelter will be picky about who gets me since there will be a lot of people that want me. Please fill out an application at WWW.AL-VAN.ORG if you would like to be considered, and the shelter will contact you to set up a meet and greet. Currently I am in foster with my owner until Al-Van finds the right placement for me. INQUIRIES ARE NOT APPLICATIONS.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Misty, a South Haven Cocker Spaniel dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Cocker Spaniel for sale in South Haven, or seeking a Cocker Spaniel dog from a breeder in South Haven.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in South Haven already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a South Haven breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Cocker Spaniel breeders who help with Cocker Spaniel rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in South Haven paves the way for another one to be saved.
