Cagney's Story...
Please contact ARNO (adoptfromarno@yahoo.com) for more information about this pet.

Cagney has come a long way from life on the streets. He and his brother Rooney were found at a feeding station by the London Avenue Canal. He was deemed unadoptable by the original rescuers due to his wariness of humans and was going to be put down, but ARNO stepped in to give him another chance. After many months in ARNO’s feral rehabilitation program, Cagney now walks well on a leash. He is about 70 pounds with a beautiful thick black coat and soulful eyes. He still can be somewhat shy and cautious, but he has a pleasant disposition and is coming out of his shell more and more each day.

For more information contact adopt@animalrescueneworleans.org. The adoption fee is $200 which includes neuter, shots, and a microchip. Come visit him at the shelter 271 Plauche Street, New Orleans, Louisiana (Elmwood area) 3 pm – 7pm any day of the week.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cagney, a New Orleans Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever for sale in New Orleans, or seeking a Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in New Orleans.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New Orleans already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New Orleans breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Shepherd (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New Orleans paves the way for another one to be saved.
