My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Scotty is a smooth coat Border Collie who is the classic black and white. He is a "young" Senior (6 years young) and a special member of our Seniors to Seniors program. Don't let his age fool you. He is a bit out of shape, but has a lot of go and just needs that exercise program to get his svelte shape back-anyone looking for a partner to walk with? He also loves, loves, loves to chase a tennis ball! He is crate trained, house trained and rides nicely in the car.

Scotty comes to us from a sad situation. His owner, knowing he was dying from Cancer, tried in vain to place his 3 older dogs, but just couldn't find the right spot for all of them. When time became limited, he was forced to place them in a shelter. Word got out and we offered to take all 3, but another rescue also spoke up and took the 2 non-herding dogs. Scotty made friends with another shelter dog named Shiloh and they both came to CTHDR together.

Scotty was heart-worm positive and has received heart-worm treatment before coming into CT. He will need to have monthly heart-worm prevention as you would give any dog normally. He is on flea/tick prevention and is up to date on vaccines, de-wormed and recently neutered. If you would like a chance to meet this special boy (and maybe his friend Shiloh?) please complete an application. Once completed and approved, we will set an appointment for your family to come and meet him. This is a very nice, settled dog with a lot to give!

Scotty has a reduced adoption fee of $350 to an approved home.
