Ernie's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, a special needs pet, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Ernie's Story...
Ernie is a special needs boy. We think he was hit by a car as he tends to list sideways occasionally. He is so sweet; his foster mom calls him a velcro dog. He wants to be by her side always. Everyone at our local boarding facility fell in love with him because of his sweetness. We are working on house training and general manners. We aren't sure of his past story as he was rescued from a local rural shelter. Hounds are thrown away in the South like trash; very sad because they make incredible family dogs. Ernie is no exception. He is a little slower mentally than most but not aggressive and gets on well with other dogs. He just wants to be loved.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ernie, a Pittsboro Redtick Coonhound dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Redtick Coonhound for sale in Pittsboro, or seeking a Redtick Coonhound dog from a breeder in Pittsboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Pittsboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Pittsboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Redtick Coonhound breeders who help with Redtick Coonhound rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Pittsboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
