Chavez - Adoption Pending's Story...
Chavez is a large character in a small body.. just about 12 pounds and 2 years old. He is a world class cuddler but also loves to go for rides in cars, go for walks, play with his toys and with other small to medium dogs. Oh yes, and he loves his raw bones and his stuffed kong. He is crate trained and walks well on the leash. We think adult only or families with children ages 10 and up would be most appropriate for him as he has not had experience with small children. He would love to be your companion and walking partner.

(An adoption donation of $300 is required.) If you are interested in adopting this dog, please email CHEW Dog Rescue at and ask for the adoption application form. If you have previously submitted an application form, there is no need to re-apply. Just let us know you're interested in this dog. We do our best to match families and dogs so everyone is pleased and the placement is permanent. We reserve the right to refuse an applicant if the home situation is incompatible with the needs of the rescue dog. Rescue is about doing our best for the dog. We do home and reference checks. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and are up to date with current vaccinations, before being placed in their forever homes.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Chavez - Adoption Pending, a Gig Harbor Pug dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pug for sale in Gig Harbor, or seeking a Pug dog from a breeder in Gig Harbor.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gig Harbor already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gig Harbor breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pug breeders who help with Pug rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gig Harbor paves the way for another one to be saved.
