And now, a few words from me:
Hello there, I'll be with you in just a second... Sorry about that, it's such a nice day, I just needed one more minute to soak it in - and my foster mom always says "You can't rush perfection!". You see, I'm kind of a big deal. You may have heard of me, I'm Archie the Yorkie mix. My favourite things? Glad you asked... Curling up with my foster family, or on their stuff (suitcases, shoes, jeans...), moseying around the yard, meeting new people & napping! When my foster parents have a seat on the couch, I am known to find a spot to nap around their feet. I'm looking for a best friend or two to share my days with - I 'll be the bestest best friend you could hope for. If you're looking for an adorably chill companion with a good sense of humour, I'm your man!
And now, a few words from my foster mom & dad:
Archie is such a quirky fella. One of his favourite things to do is test out all of the dog beds (by dog bed, we mean any funny thing that he chose to have a nap on). He just has this confidence about him and such a great personality too!
He's a real gentleman when being introduced to our guests or going to visit family. He gets along with everybody, including our small dogs who have a similar calm energy. You really see his spunk shine through when he wakes up, around meal time or when he feels like playing - it's cute how excited and happy he gets. The way he gallops around, you'd think he was a wild horse! Archie enjoys short walks at his own pace, and isn't suited for long and draining exercise. He absolutely loves the backyard, and makes an excellent gardening or patio companion. Archie would do well in a bungalow, or home with minimal stairs so his access to potty is easy.
When Archie arrived in rescue he was provided with medicine for his heart murmur. Archie's forever home will need to have a stable schedule, as he requires this medicine daily to help his heart function - it only takes a minute and is quite reasonable at about $25/month! Having an enlarged heart means he has more love to give and boy does he deserve and receive it in return. He is a little bit hard of hearing, but can certainly hear us! This just means he's not reactive to subtle noises.
Proper vet care, medication & unconditional love are the key to his vitality! Senior dogs are much harder to place but their desires and needs are just like any dog so don't overlook sweet Archie. He thoroughly enjoys his life and having people around. We instantly fell in love with him and promise that you will too.
