Hello friends, my name is Boon, and I am as soft as a bunny. Really - I am! I have unusually soft fur that stands out even among soft, silky kitties. It's one of the many things you'll love about me. I

My foster parents describe me as "the easiest kitty you could ever have." They love me and cannot praise me highly enough, but they have other cats and I need a home where I am the "one and only." I'm terrified of other cats after my traumatic experiences with the feral colony.

I found myself outside on the streets of Baltimore living with a feral colony.  Clearly I was never a feral cat - I even had a microchip. My original owners could not be located, even after much effort.

My veterinary friends believe me to be about four (4) years old. I am a beautiful girl with medium length fur - and as I said, I am as soft as a bunny! I love to be petted and you will adore petting me. I'll sit on your lap or by your side and we can both purr in happiness.

While I initially appear to have black fur, when the light shines on me subtle chocolate tones and other lovely patterns appear. There is nothing like a kitty with medium length fur for softness and beauty. I have large round bright eyes that shine in green or gold depending on the lighting conditions. I've got an unusual and lovely sprinkling of snowy white on my head. You rarely find such a marking on a kitty with my coloring.

I am loving and social and I loooove to hang out with my people! I also love to sit up like a little purrson! You can see me doing this in one of my photos. I'l sit with you while you're reading or watching TV or just relaxing. I also belly rubs on my bunny-soft belly. You can see me rolling over to receive a belly rub from my foster mom in one of my photos.

I am the easiest kitty you could ever have - in addition to being loving and social, I am flawless with my litter box. I eat quickly and on a schedule. I use my scratch pad like I was born to it.

I am a very smart girl who learns quickly. I am excellent about not getting up on the table or counter. I was at the door to greet my foster parents with happy leg rubs when they came home. I simply adore my humans.

I am dreaming of a home with no other animals and no children. My foster parents worked diligently with me and with a veterinarian over a period of several months to introduce me to their resident cats, but I cannot shed my deep anxieties about the other cats.

I want to be able to love you and show you what a fabulous feline companion I am without worrying about my safety where cats (or unpredictable children) are concerned. These are the circumstances under which my foster parents have enjoyed my exceptional company and experienced my obvious affection for my very own humans.

If you are looking for a young, bunny-soft, gorgeous girl with excellent manners, intelligence and an inborn love for my special human(s), please send an email to and ask about meeting me, Boon - soft as a bunny - and the easiest girl you could ever love. Thank you!

Lovingly yours,
Bunny-Soft Boon

About King Street Cats

About Our Shelter...

We are proud to be the only cat-exclusive orphanage in Alexandria, Va. We have been in operation since 2003, and were previously known as The Albert Foundation for many years before becoming King Street Cats. Because we are a free-roaming and no-kill cat orphanage, we have the "cat-friendliest cats" in town! Our primary purpose is to educate and assist the community in regard to cat welfare, and to provide loving homes for the cats and kittens in our care. We accomplish this through outreach to the local community by providing information on proper cat care, behavioral problems and medical issues involving cats. We also assist local residents in locating and retrieving lost cats and assist individuals through the cat adoption process. We provide abandoned and rescued cats and kittens with a safe and secure temporary home until a permanent, loving home can be found.

We promote spaying and neutering and all our cats and kittens are sterilized and fully up-to-date on all medical care prior to adoption. We also provide post-adoption support for adopters and anyone else that needs cat care advice. Because we only work in the area of cat welfare .... we know cats! Please stop by and visit with our friendly cats.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Adoptions at 25 Dove St (the King Street Cat home) are every Saturday and Sunday from 1:30 to 4:30 pm

Additional Adoption Events:
- Petco at Beacon Hill on the first Saturday of the month (1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.)
- Profeed at Bradlee Shopping Center on Saturdays and Sundays (1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.)
- Petsmart at Falls Church on 3rd/4th Sunday of the month (1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.)

Our Adoption Process...

Our adoption process is simple. When you come to the adoption center, you will fill out an application and a volunteer will interview you and ask about your cat knowledge and experience as well as your other pets. If your application is approved, they will help match you to the cat is perfect for your home and lifestyle. Some adult cats may be adopted singly, but we prefer to adopt out kittens in pairs unless you have a playful cat or dog already in residence to keep the kitten company.

King Street Cats asks for a $125 non-refundable adoption fee to adopt a cat or kitten, or $225 to adopt two. The fee includes:

- A cat that has been to a vet and tested for FELV/FIV. They are not put up for adoption unless the tests are negative (although sometimes we do have an FIV-positive cat that is healthy and can be adopted).
- An adult cat that is up-to-date on vaccinations before being made available for adoption. (Kittens will have had vaccinations appropriate for their age)
- Cats and kittens are spayed or neutered before they are placed for adoption. Kittens are spayed/neutered between 12-14 weeks and are then available for adoption.
- Post-adoption support: our volunteers are very knowledgeable about cat care. We encourage adopters to call us with any questions.
