My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Northern California Weimaraner Rescue, Inc. is a 501c3 non-profit organization. Please visit www.norcalweimrescue.org to fill out our online Adoption Application

PUTTY, 11 y/o female Weimaraner. Putty has a sad story behind her availability. She was surrendered to NCWR when her first owner had to move to a rest home. At age 10, she was adopted by a doting gentleman who less than a year later, suddenly had a serious medical issue and can no longer care for her. Up until this point, Putty spent time with her new Dad at cafes, got endless attention and was by his side almost all the time. Putty is doing very well at her Foster Dad's place and is getting along very well with her bigger female Weimaraner housemate. They play together and share their toys and different beds. Her foster Dad has taught her the commands sit, down, and wait. Putty has some separation anxiety (not surprisingly), but she does well with another dog to keep her company. Also, living with people who follow a routine and provide good leadership so she can just fall in place helps her stay calm. At the off leash dog park/beach, Putty sticks pretty close unless she thinks someone else is her person and follows him/her. Putty is very eager to please, is very social and always wags her little tail. She curls up in the back seat of the car with no problem, happy to be with her person. Putty loves kids and has gotten along with all dogs she's met, big or small. While she has learned in her foster home she is not to get on the furniture nor steal food, she will hop on the sofa and grab food left unattended when her foster Dad isn't looking. Making Putty happy consists of lots of touch, rubs, pats and activity! While she doesn't insist on a walk every day, she loves getting out and especially enjoys a weekend hike or a run on the beach! Putty is a healthy, young at heart 11-year old and is often mistaken as being much younger. Her shiny coat, baby kisses, and longing stares will melt your heart. Can you give this sweet, happy and gentle girl her forever home? Putty is current on vaccines and spayed. If you are interested in adopting Putty, please fill out an APPLICATION. Putty is in San Jose. No adoption fee.
