From Jennifer Weg, Teacher, East Irondequoit Middle School: "This transport is sponsored by East Irondequoit Middle School in honor of our school mascot, Lancer. I am a grade 7/8 Language/Literature teacher at the school, and my students and I had been talking about my precious Gomez and their own rescued animals. So we thought that sponsoring a transport from a kill shelter would be a great way to give back! Students sold beads and stickers for the holidays with funds going toward our goal to sponsor a life-saving run. We put together gift baskets with donations from local businesses (Park Ave Pub and Restaurant, Shop Peppermint). My mom Rita Weg, School Counselor Peg England, and sixth grade teacher Kim Rovitelli sold raffle tickets to adults at the school to add to the cause. It was a team effort with a large group of very enthusiastic, compassionate students and adults, and we are so honored to say that East Irondequoit Middle School "came to the rescue"!!!
Maddox was born about May 11, 2012 and weighs about 15 lbs. He is absolutely adorable and very sweet once he trusts you, but something really awful happened in this boys life to have caused such extreme fear toward new humans. He will nip if he doesn't know you and to get to know him is going to take a bit of time and a calm home will make him happiest without a lot of traffic. No kids, please. Please understand that we have no prior knowledge of this dog and we will be learning as we go and so will you.The Adoption Fee for this dog is $200.00.
