Fitz's Story...
These little cuties are very playful, energetic, and people oriented. They love to run and tumble then snuggle up together and take a nap. They love getting attention, being around their foster family and sharing their awesome purrs. They were born mid/late March 2016. They have tested negative for FIV/Felv and are current on their vaccines.

Abby and Mellie - White with gray stripes They are totally sisters - first to climb on laps and snuggle at bed time, like being picked up and cuddled and then gaze adoringly into your eyes. Abby loves family's large dog. Huck and Fitz. Black and white. Oops, male names since initially identified as males.

Fitz – black dot on nose. She is the family baby. Super sweet and affectionate. She runs to greet people, likes to be picked up and have her tummy scratched. Loves cuddling on your lap and getting plenty of attention.

Huck- Likes to follow her foster mom and hang out around her feet. She likes sitting next to people and putting a paw out to touch and connect. Huck totally enjoys pouncing on siblings. She climbs under the covers at bedtime for a snuggle.

Their foster family is very attached to these little ones and would love for them to get a good home where they go with one of their siblings or other young cat. They have been micro chipped.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Fitz, a Merrifield Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Merrifield, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Merrifield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Merrifield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Merrifield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Merrifield paves the way for another one to be saved.
