Mickey's Story...
Mickey is an adorable black & white male kitten with a white spot on his nose and white whiskers. He is five months old, loves to play and is very affectionate. He has a reputation as somewhat of a little "pack rat" in the kennel, stealing pens and paper clips to hide. Mickey is healthy, neutered, micro chipped and up-to-date on his vaccines. Mickey will be a great family pet.
Visit the BCAR Open House from 11 am - 2 pm on Saturday and fill out an adoption application or on line below

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Mickey, a Big Canoe American Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Big Canoe, or seeking a American Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Big Canoe.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Big Canoe already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Big Canoe breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Big Canoe paves the way for another one to be saved.
