Thank you for your interest in our adoptable animals.  If you would like more information about this pet, see the Shelter information below.   We would love to help you rescue a perfect pet!

HAZE is a young boy between 1 and 5 years old.  Haze is a young dog who clearly gets way excited over the little things in life.  He gets excited when he knows it's time to go outside.  He gets excited when he knows it's time to play.  He gets excited when he knows you are leaning down to give him a kiss, to harness him up or to just hang out w/ him.  Haze is a young and happy happy happy boy.  He needs a new family willing to work on his clumsiness, that is, with his mouth which always seem to be open because he is always smiling!  The unfortunate of this always smiling is that if he jumps...and his mouth is open and smiling...there is a chance he might get you w/ his teeth when he jumps...which is does...often.  When he meets new people...he jumps. When you go to his cage to harness him up...he jumps.  Ok, we just went through this so let me summarize it for you.  Haze is a happy boy whose silliness and excited-ness need some polishing up on. He needs someone willing to take the time, daily, to enable him to run around and wear off that energy that has built up throughout the preceding minutes or hours.  Haze needs someone willing to provide the training necessary to teach him how to turn that energy into something good, like agility, games, tricks, or anything else you can think of!  Haze is so treat motivated (and smart I might add) that taking the time DAILY to spend w/ him in these activities will be an incredible bonding experience for everyone involved.  I believe Haze would be good around children provided there is proper supervision by an experienced adult.  I believe Haze would thrive in a home willing to be a little patient with him while he learns how to tone that extra energy into good.  Haze still needs playtime though!  He loves to play fetch! He loves to run around chasing tennis balls and he loves to play rough w/ girl doggies!  He seems to be ok w/ some male dogs but the girls are always a hit as long as they accept his rough play.  Here is a link to a video of him running and playing w/ a little girl named Dazzle who is also available for adoption from VBACAC!

Haze seems to be house trained and knows several commands including sit, stay and down.  He is good on the leash making walks or runs enjoyable.  He is a good passenger in the car which is great because he wants to be a part of the family, traveling w/ you when take a day trip to the lake or beach or the weekend when you go to grandma's house or visit friends.  He will also be by your side when you watch your team play the big game or outside at your cookouts!  Come and visit this boy and I know you will be happy you did! He is waiting in the back so just ask to visit w/ him! Ask someone to take him out to the yard so you can see him run around.  VBACAC is located at 341 S Birdneck Rd in Va Beach.
