Lady II's Story...
Hello, friends. My name is Lady. I’m a 7 year old, 45 pound girl. My owner passed away and AGB took me in. They treated me for hookworms, fleas and ticks and are working on my matted coat. I got shaved but I feel so much better and my pretty fur will grow back. Unfortunately, I’m heartworm positive. A pup could die without treatment for heart worm. AGB is giving me the medicine I need to get well and help me find a family to love me. I have been mainly kept outdoors and I am a little skittish. But I’m a sweet, smart girl and with just a little love and attention, I know I can become your very best friend. If you would like to welcome a sweet Lady into your home, please ask to meet me. PS… AGB has set up a special fund for my medical treatment and I sure would appreciate any amount you could give. Thank you!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lady II, a BIRMINGHAM Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in BIRMINGHAM, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in BIRMINGHAM.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in BIRMINGHAM already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a BIRMINGHAM breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in BIRMINGHAM paves the way for another one to be saved.
