My name is KAI!

Border Collie Dog for adoption in San Pedro, California - KAI

I found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.

KAI's Info...

I am already neutered, purebred, in need of an experienced adopter, up to date with shots, and not good with cats.

KAI's Story...
Meet Kai.  Kai is an 18 months old male classically marked black and white Border Collie with a rough coat.  Kai has a really nice temperament and really enjoys being with people.  He loves to climb in your lap and snuggle.  Kai knows his basic obedience, is housebroken, and is crate trained.  He also travels well in the car.  Kai’s energy level is medium, and he will require daily exercise along with proper mental stimulation.

Kai cannot be placed in a home with other male dogs, as we are told he is choosy with which males he likes, however, he is fine with female dogs.  He probably would not make a very good dog park dog, since there most likely will be other males there.  Kai does not do well with cats or other small animals either.

The ideal home would be one who has had previous BC experience and can demonstrate that they have the right stuff to own this breed.  Please do not apply for Kai if you don’t know the breed just because he is so handsome.

If you are interested in meeting our dogs, please fill out an adoption application.  We require a pre-approved application to be on file before any meet and greets are scheduled.  The electronic application can be found on our website at http://www.bordercolliesinneed.org/border_collie_rescue_and_adoptions/adoption_application.html

Why Adoption is a Great Option

KAI, a San Pedro Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in San Pedro, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in San Pedro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in San Pedro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a San Pedro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in San Pedro paves the way for another one to be saved.
