Barney's Story...
Hi I'm Barney and I am 10 years old. I'm a quiet and shy girl looking for her forever family. I love to lay around and be a typical senior cat and lay around and watch birds fly by. I love to be pet and sometimes the occasional cuddling. I get along well with dogs and cats from the home I came from but I usually watched them from a far. They didn't scare me but I like to be alone because I'm not a social kind of cat. I got along great with the kids in my home as well but they didn't hold me a lot which is what I would prefer! I'm already spayed and ready to go home with that special family today! My adoption fee is $42.50.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Barney, a Rapid City American Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Rapid City, or seeking a American Shorthair cat from a breeder in Rapid City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rapid City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rapid City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rapid City paves the way for another one to be saved.
