LONG ISLAND, NY: FRIENDS -- We are her best if not ONLY CHANCE to find a COMPASSIONATE SOUL who believes that SHE is NOT DISPOSABLE! That being old does not mean that she doesn't matter. PLEASE ACT NOW if you can help!

It is SUMMER and that means that SHELTERS around the country are FULL! And FULL means that every cage means a LIFE -- so adopting or fostering ANY PET not only saves that pets life but it frees up that cage for another who may take more time.

Town of Hempstead Shelter, NY is FILLED BEYOND CAPACITY! Dogs are in crates in hallways in an effort to HOPE for an extra adoption, foster or rescue -- EVERY LIFE MATTERS but they cannot keep animals that they have no space for. Cats too -- beyond full and kept together in cages when possible.

KITTENS, CATS, SENIORS, ADULTS, PUPPIES -- you NAME it -- there IS a pet that will fit your household. PLEASE check out just some of their pets on their WEBSITE (not all of the available pets but many) --

ALLISON -- ALLIE (STRAY-- so this is a shelter name)
● Transport IS available anywhere in NE to approved adopter
● "Very Old, 10+ ... beagle mix", female
● Calm, sweet
● Has not had behavioral assessment given stray hold but will likely be fine with any gentle dog(s)/cat(s)
● HEALTH -- still needs full assessment -- teeth are a mess, she needs a bath, slight heart murmur, lump on abdomen and neck, small growth on eyelid -- will be fully vetted before adoption if a home can be found

About Road to Home Rescue Support - Long Island, NY

About Our Rescue Group...

Road to Home was started to be able to focus on animals in need and to provide support to local rescues. After years of working in shelters and with rescues, we decided starting our own rescue was the best way to do what we do best! We are a 100 percent non-profit and 100 percent of the money we raise goes towards animals in need. Our 5013c is pending. Here’s what we will focus on:

-Providing guidance and support for re-homing an animal.
-Providing medical attention, training, spay/neuter, and food/supplies to a homeless animal.
-Pulling an animal from a euthanasia list or from an unsafe situation and placing them in a foster or permanent home.
-Working with rescues and shelters to facilitate adoptions by doing home checks, adoption applications, and networking to find foster or permanent homes for animals in need.
-Working with rescues and shelters to coordinate adoption events, food drives, and fundraisers.
-Raising money through a Chip-In to help specific dogs with training, medical needs, and adoption.
-Raising funds that can be allocated to specific needs of other rescues and shelters (including medical expenses, training expenses, food, and transport) as well as pledging money to animals in jeopardy of euthanasia.
