This little character is Fin, a 4 year old Australian Cattledog mix. At 22 pounds, he is a small guy with mass amounts of personality!
Fin has learned a lot of house manners. He is house and crate trained. He knows sit and “to your bed” when it’s time for the crate. He is wonderful in the car and on leash. He learns so fast that he may have learned something new by the time you are reading this. He also LOVES his blankeys! He loves to bury himself in his blankets and pillows. He's also a goof - very wiggly and snuggly and affectionate once he gets to know you.
Fin enjoys casual hikes or long strolls through the neighborhood. Once he gets to know his person, he is even good off leash on a hike.
Fin is a big guy in a small package. He needs a home where his people aren’t pushovers. If he gets an inch, he will take a mile. Therefore, he is looking for a home that understands that some dogs feel best when they have a lot of structure. He also is looking for a home where he is a buddy rather than a teddy bear. He will do best hanging out with his person but not being cuddled and coddled.
A home without kids is required. He lives with other animals and gets along well. Just like with people, he does best when his animal friends aren’t pushovers.
In order to help Fin be the best he can be, he has been enrolled in professional training where his obedience skills have been refined. He has received additional socialization with dogs and people, too. He will always be a one or two person kind of dog rather than the super social, love everyone kind of guy. If you want devoted, he is definitely that. HIs foster mom says that he has a way of becoming a part of your heart, so even with his need for structure, he is well worth it.
He will come with a few sessions of training with his new person and current trainer so that his transition to a new home is smooth and effective. The training is included in his adoption fee.
Fin is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and ready to meet potential adopters in Southern CA. Out of area adopters will be happily referred to local rescues. Fin is a SoCal kind of guy and loves the weather here.
A home visit and vet reference are required.
