My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Chips and his sister Salsa are ready to be the life of your party! These baby pups are just 9 weeks old, and weigh about 10 pounds. Each is ready to find a family of their own and be the center of attention. They have typical puppy energy-- running around one minute, then finding a place to take a long nap the next. They sleep through the night in a crate without accidents, and are well on their way to being potty-trained.

We don't know anything about their mom or dad, but our best guess is they are part terrier mixed with another mellow breed, possibly lab, since they have a very sweet, people-oriented temperament. They're not barkers or jumpers, but they are teething and can be a bit mouthy. Chew toys are a must!

Chips is more mellow than his sister and incredibly sweet. He is very active and would enjoy a doggy playmate, but he melts the minute you pick him up in your arms. He behaved perfectly at the vet for his recent nail trim and ear cleaning, so he knows when to play and when to pay attention.

Because he is such a baby Chips needs a family where someone is home part or all of the day to complete his potty training, keep him well socialized, and take him to puppy school when he is old enough.

Chips is being fostered at Wilmette Pet Center, 625 Green Bay Rd. and you can meet him any time during store hours 7 days a week (847-251-6750, www.wilmettepetcenter.com). Although he is so sweet you will want to take him home on the spot, please know you will have to go through the application process first.

Chip's adoption fee of $375 includes: vet exam, distemper combo vaccination, bordetella vaccination, routine deworming, flea/tick preventative, heartworm preventative, microchip and neuter.
