Ned's Story...
Hi, my name is Ned. I am a gentleman of a cat with the softest tabby fur and gentle brown eyes. I know just what I want from life: a cozy blanket to snuggle in, a sunny spot in the window, and the sweet sensation of being scratched under the chin by a loving hand. I'm twelve years old and have been in foster care for no less than seven years. I've been passed over for so long because I'm a little shy in new situations. But just give me a chance to get used to you, and I'll be your sweetest cuddle buddy, always wanting to be in your lap and snuggle with you at bedtime. Imagine walking out of the shelter with me in your arms, knowing that you are going to give me the experience of love from a forever family for however long I have left - won't that be such a gratifying experience?

Please apply online and ask my foster mom Kathryn all about me.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ned, a Richmond Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
