Myrtle's Story...
Sweet and gentle Myrtle, she arrived after being picked up stray by a Good Samaritan. She has waited patiently for her family to come in and find her but no such luck. We don't understand, she had on a collar and clearly at some point had a family that she loved. Myrtle is a bit nervous at first but quickly makes friends. Eager to love again Myrtle sits and waits for her hero to find her. She is about 55 pounds, 2 to 4 years young, up to date on vaccinations, spayed, micro-chipped and heartworm negative and looking for love.

Act quickly to adopt Myrtle. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Myrtle, a Brookhaven Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Brookhaven, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Brookhaven.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Brookhaven already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Brookhaven breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Brookhaven paves the way for another one to be saved.
