Facts about Perla

  • Breed: Turkish Van
  • Color: White
  • Age: Young
  • Sex: Female
  • Hair: Short
A quiet, gentle soul, Perla was found wandering the streets of Los Angeles when she was only a few months old. Unfortunately, even though we found her young, she had already experienced trauma that left her shy and afraid to be touched. She also had bad gingivitis, which caused her a lot of pain and made her even more afraid. With a lot of love and patience (and antibiotics), though, we have gotten her healthy, and gradually brought this beautiful little sweetheart out of her shell. She is still quite shy, but when she is in a place she feels safe, she loves to be pet and will roll onto your hand to give you a better angle. She also enjoys to play, and when you get her going, she will bound after toys (or her fellow kitties) like a bunny.

She is pure, creamy white, with two different color eyes! As far as we can tell, she is not deaf in the blue-eyed side as is often the case with this particular coloration. She needs a quiet, loving home with patient and caring owners who continue the work we've done. She will make a wonderful companion for both humans and other kitties.

We offer counseling to those who are willing to try and keep their companion animals. At Rescue Me Pet Foundation we stress to each and every prospective adopter that adding a companion animal to your family is a big decision. Your new companion could be with you for over 20 years. Rescue Me Pet Foundation also offers a creative foster/adoption program. We are currently in need of "Foster homes", if you are interested or would like information regarding other areas in which you might be able to help, please contact me.
