Winnie is a 2 year old chi mix who was found stray and taken to a local shelter. The shelter staff loved her so they sent a plea out for rescue! That's when an LHS foster stepped up and took her into our program where she now waits for her furrver home!

Little Winnie is an absolute sweetie:) She loves to play with the resident doggies and follow her mom around the house in hopes of a belly rub! She LOVES to take naps on a sunny day as well as with her foster mom:)

Winnie does well with cats and given her size would do better with older, considerate kiddos.

Winnie weighs ~ 11 lbs, is spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. Because her former family did not keep her on HW preventative, she was heartworm positive when she came into our program.  She has received treatment and is doing really well.  Once HW are treated, they are gone if kept on monthly HW preventative.

So if you are interested in meeting this little one, please fill out an application online. Her foster mom will be in touch within 24hrs.

About Legacy Humane Society

About Our Rescue Group...

Our Purpose is:

To rescue adoptable dogs and puppies from animal shelters and animal control facilities

To rescue dogs and puppies from abusive and neglectful situations, including puppy mills and "backyard breeders"

To help educate the public on proper animal care and promote spaying and neutering of all pets

To provide medical treatment for animals in our care

To provide foster homes for animals in our care

To place rescued animals in permanent, loving homes

To build and maintain a facility to house rescued animals and host adoptions.

Come Meet Our Pets...

To meet our pets, contact us about any dog/puppy you are interested in and we'll set up a meeting time/date between the adopter and foster home.

Our Adoption Process...

Adopters will complete an adoption app. If he/she has a pet, we will check their vet reference and a home visit is not needed (as long as the vet reference is current). All pets must be UTD , current on HW prev and S/N. If a home visit is needed we will compele that ASAP--as we don't want any delays in the adoption process. The adoption fee is $200 for dogs ad $250 for puppies. We spend an average of $300 on each dog/puppy, so the adoption fee helps pay for the vetting for future dogs we bring into the program. Their is a 5 day grace period to make sure he/she is a good fit for your family.
