Meet our boy Pancakes! Pancakes is a Labrador Retriever/Vizsla mix and came to us in December, 2015 after being rescued from a high-kill shelter in Riverside. This handsome guy came to us extremely overweight and a little sluggish, weighing in at 90 pounds! Even if he’s a little chubby, his syrupy sweet personality is helping him make tons of new pup friends in his big play group. He and his kennelmate, Grits, have been caught playfully chasing each other around our play yard every chance they get! Volunteers gush about Pancakes’ leash manners and offer to walk him regularly, which is part of how we are helping Pancakes get back to his ideal healthy weight. We estimate that his goal weight should be around 75-80- pounds. At 3-years-old, Pancakes is a gentle giant and we think he is housebroken, given that he has not had one accident in his kennel since his arrival. His short, auburn coat will require minimal grooming and is very soft to the touch. With his mature temperament, Pancakes would love a mellow home and would be great in either a suburban or urban environment. This affectionate boy has a lot of love to give and is waiting for his forever home! If you have the forever home he is looking for, submit an app today!
