My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, My name is Honey,

I think I was named Honey because I am the sweetest dog you’ll ever run across. I’m very gentle and laid back. I’m also a very curious girl. I love to watch everything that goes on around me. I also really like peanut butter.

I don’t care for a lot of different types of dog treats but I like anything peanut butter flavored. Why flavor something with peanut butter, just give me the peanut butter!?!!

I love playing with my canine foster brothers. They are a lot of fun. I enjoy playing with the 3 year old doggie-brother better than I like playing with the 7 month old doggie-brother. The 7 month old can be rather annoying after a while.

I’m looking for a forever home. And, well, my forever home is going to have to be a special one with an angel (or maybe a couple angels). You see, I grew up in the woods in southern Ohio so I didn’t know what humans were until I was a little over a year old. I was the last of my litter to be caught so I was pretty good at avoiding people. I then lived with a wonderful, kind lady that has a lot of dogs so I was able to avoid human interaction for the most part. Now I’m living with a foster mom and dad, a human foster sister, a human foster brother and two doggie foster brothers. I’ve been here for about 2 months and have learned a lot from the people and the dogs. I’ve learned that people aren’t so bad and that I love to be petted although sometimes my fear gets the better of me.

I don’t have an aggressive bone in my body. I just like to run and hide. My favorite place to hide is on my foster mommy and daddy’s bed. I never said I was good at hiding. If you get me cornered I freeze. I’ve never bit anyone. I’m just a sweet, scared girl sometimes.

So, my perfect forever home would have at least one other dog and maybe a couple kids that are beyond their toddler years. I love watching my human foster siblings especially my 10 year old human foster brother. He’s always doing something interesting.

I’m doing better with walking on a leash but when I go somewhere new I still get scared and want to run and hide. So it would be a good idea for someone strong to hang on to my leash until I get used to my new environment.

I’m house trained, crate trained (although the crate isn’t my favorite place to be), up to date on my vaccinations, heartworm negative, healthy, and 2 ½ years old. My adoption fee is $165.00
