found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am purebred, good with kids, and good with dogs.
This little beagle was found wandering as a stray in a rural area north of Houston, and was taken to a county shelter. No one came to claim her, which was not surprising since she had apparently been very neglected in her past. At the shelter she was curled up in a little ball and looked as if she had given up, but when the beagle rescue volunteer came to rescue her, Cricket diverted from her course on the way out, to go over and give a kiss to a maintenance worker who was lying on the floor fixing a fountain! How cute was that?!
Beagle Rescue has been taking care of Cricket's medical needs and getting her all fixed up for adoption. While she was at 2 different vet clinics on separate occasions, the staff at both clinics remarked on what a well-behaved patient she was! When she goes to the Petsmart with her foster mom, people there also notice was a good dog she is! At home, she likes to curl up on a favorite chair or dog bed near to the humans. She rarely barks, and never chews up anything nor has any potty accidents! She is trained to use a doggie door, and also likes to go out on a leash to go potty. As is typical with most beagles, Cricket is always looking for an opportunity to slip out the front door, and because she is so tiny, she is pretty good at seizing the moment if it is presented! Her adopters will have to be very diligent at keeping her from dashing out.
Cricket's favorite things are leash walks, car rides, treats, and soft places for napping. She gets along well with the other beagles in the house, but does not play with other dogs. She seems to have known children in the past, because when the foster mom's grandchildren come to visit, Cricket is right in the middle of the group, wanting attention. However, because she is a quiet dog, her foster mom would not recommend her for a family with young, noisy children. If you are looking for a calm companion, Cricket is your girl!
